Editorial
Welcome to the fifth issue of Baffling Magazine.
This issue includes innumerable hitherto untold wonders! Except, of course, there are actually eight, a totally manageable number. Come hear tell of haunting parallel worlds, the uterine future no one asked for, a delightful reflection on personhood (reflected on our cover!), a tortured craftsman trying to work amidst heroic villany, grief’s latest unhelpful coping mechanisms, a dangerous enchantment slipping away beneath a lover’s fingers, a charming vampiric culinary adventure, and a heartbreaking story of fraught identity and perseverent survival.
This is the fifth installment of the magazine and we couldn’t be happier to start our second year with these stories! Baffling Year One is still available to pre-order at Neon Hemlock; we’ll be putting that into the world in November.
Thanks to our contributors for these rad stories and to our cover artist, polterink, for this deco homage to Arden Powell’s lovely story. My co-editor, Craig, our associate editor Gabriella, and I are so hype that we get to keep bringing this magazine to y’all. Endless gratitude to our supporters on Patreon; we wouldn’t be here if y’all didn’t have our back.
Enjoy!
